Voss Expert4.5/5

Voss Expert tasting note

Moro di Testa presents a deep garnet hue, indicative of its robust character. The nose is a symphony of dark plum and black cherry, underscored by hints of dried herbs and a whisper of cedar, suggesting a well-judged oak influence. On the palate, the wine reveals a full-bodied structure with velvety tannins and a core of ripe blackberry and cassis. A vibrant acidity provides balance, while subtle notes of anise and graphite add layers of complexity. The finish is long and harmonious, marking this as a quintessential expression of its regional terroir, poised for both immediate enjoyment and further aging.

Moro di Testa is crafted from select grapes grown in the sun-drenched vineyards of southern Italy, where the Mediterranean climate imparts a unique character to the wine. The grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness to ensure a full-bodied profile. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks to preserve the natural fruit flavors, followed by aging in neutral oak barrels to enhance complexity without overpowering the wine's inherent qualities. This red wine offers a balanced expression with rich fruit notes and a smooth finish, making it suitable for both immediate enjoyment and short-term cellaring.
