Voss Expert tasting note

The 2020 Migliarina Montozzi Chianti Superiore presents a deep ruby hue, indicative of its vibrant character. On the nose, it unfurls a complex bouquet of ripe black cherries, dried herbs, and a hint of violet, underscored by subtle notes of cedar and earth. The palate is medium-bodied, showcasing a harmonious interplay of bright acidity and fine-grained tannins, which provide a structured backbone. Flavors of red plum and wild berries are complemented by a whisper of spice, leading to a lingering, mineral-driven finish. This wine exemplifies the classic elegance and finesse of Chianti, offering both immediate appeal and potential for further development.

Migliarina Montozzi Chianti Superiore is crafted from Sangiovese grapes grown in the Montozzi estate, located in Tuscany's Chianti region. The vineyard benefits from a mix of clay and limestone soils and a Mediterranean climate, which contribute to the wine's structure and balance. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks to preserve the grape's natural fruit character, followed by aging in oak barrels to add depth and complexity. This Chianti Superiore offers a medium-bodied profile with bright acidity and notes of red cherry and spice, suitable for pairing with a variety of Italian dishes.
