This distinguished Gevrey-Chambertin 'Seuvrées' reveals a deep ruby hue, inviting exploration into its aromatic complexity. The nose is a sophisticated interplay of black cherry, wild raspberry, and earthy undertones, accented by whispers of violet and subtle oak spice. On the palate, it exhibits a harmonious balance between vibrant acidity and fine-grained tannins, offering a silky texture that underscores its elegance. The wine's mineral backbone and savory depth lead to a persistent finish, marked by notes of forest floor and a touch of graphite. This is a quintessential expression of Burgundy, poised for both immediate enjoyment and graceful aging.

We are 50+ wine professionals (sommeliers, buyers, MW candidates) across the US, UK, France, Greece, Italy, and beyond. We review wines via blind tastings with a standardized rubric, using both 100-point and 5-star scales.

Michel Magnien Gevrey-Chambertin 'Seuvrées' is crafted from Pinot Noir grapes grown in the 'Seuvrées' vineyard, located in the renowned Gevrey-Chambertin appellation of Burgundy, France. The vineyard benefits from a continental climate with cool nights and warm days, promoting balanced ripening. The wine undergoes traditional fermentation with natural yeasts, followed by aging in French oak barrels, a portion of which are new, to enhance structure and complexity. This wine is intended to showcase the classic characteristics of Gevrey-Chambertin, offering a medium-bodied profile with red fruit flavors, earthy undertones, and a refined tannic structure, suitable for aging or immediate enjoyment.
