This Chianti Classico Riserva receives consistent praise for its well-balanced structure, featuring firm yet polished tannins and vibrant acidity. Reviewers highlight complex aromas of cherry, leather, and earthy notes, with many noting excellent aging potential. While some find older vintages past their prime, most appreciate its elegant integration of oak and food-pairing versatility. The wine shows remarkable consistency across vintages, though a few critics mention occasional excessive tartness.
The Melini Vigneti La Selvanella Chianti Classico Riserva is a remarkable wine that showcases the best of Chianti Classico. On the nose, it offers an enticing bouquet of ripe red fruits, such as cherries and plums, accompanied by hints of violet and spice. On the palate, the wine reveals a harmonious balance between its fruitiness and its well-integrated tannins. The flavors of red berries and cherries are complemented by notes of forest floor and leather, adding complexity and depth. The wine's medium to full body provides a satisfying mouthfeel, while its vibrant acidity contributes to a long and elegant finish. The Melini Vigneti La Selvanella Chianti Classico Riserva is a wine that can be enjoyed now, but it also has the potential to age gracefully. It pairs wonderfully with a variety of dishes, including grilled meats, hearty pasta dishes, and aged cheeses.
