A vibrant ruby hue introduces this expressive Sangiovese, showcasing a bouquet of ripe cherry, dried rose petals, and subtle hints of forest floor leaf. On the palate, it reveals a medium-bodied structure with finely grained tannins and a lively acidity that frames the wine's core of red currant and cranberry flavors. The finish is elegantly prolonged by nuances of earthy undertones and a whisper of black tea. This wine exemplifies a refined interpretation of Sangiovese, balancing Old World finesse with New World vibrancy, making it a compelling choice for those seeking a sophisticated yet approachable red.

Mayer Sangiovese is crafted from grapes grown in the cool climate of the Yarra Valley, Australia, where the region's temperate weather allows for a longer growing season, enhancing the grape's natural acidity and flavor development. The wine undergoes fermentation in open-top fermenters, followed by aging in a combination of old and new French oak barrels to add subtle complexity without overpowering the fruit. This Sangiovese is intended to be a medium-bodied wine with bright cherry and red fruit notes, balanced by earthy undertones and a refreshing acidity, suitable for both immediate enjoyment and short-term cellaring.
