WINE DESCRIPTION
Masseria del Feudo Il Giglio Nero d'Avola is produced on the volcanic island of Sicily in the Mediterranean Sea. The vineyards are planted at high elevation which helps offset the warm temperatures and slow the ripening. The grapes are grown organically and manually harvested. Fermentation takes place in stainless vats, whilst maturation occurs in concrete vats and in bottle. Barrel aging is eschewed, with the belief that this wine expresses the variety and terroir more clearly without the use of oak.

The Masseria del Feudo Il Giglio Nero d'Avola reveals aromas of ripe dark fruits, such as black cherries and plums, accompanied by hints of spices and herbs.The palate is medium-bodied and velvety, with a well-balanced structure and smooth tannins. The flavors of black fruits continue to dominate, complemented by notes of licorice and a touch of dried herbs. The finish is rich and satisfying with gentle smoky minerality hinting at the volcanic soils the grapes are grown on.
