WINE DESCRIPTION
Manfred Breit's Riesling Spätlese is produced from late harvested bunches of grapes sourced from the Piesporter Goldtröpfchen vineyard. The vineyard's ideal exposition and slate soils, also contribute to the grapes' ripeness and intensity of flavor. After gently pressing, the grapes are fermented in neutral vessels to retain the purity of fruit. Fermentation is halted prior to completion in order to retain sweetness in the wine, helping to offset the racy acidity typical of Riesling grown in the marginal climate of the Mosel.
NOTES FROM VINOVOSS SOMMELIER
The Manfred Breit Piesporter Goldtröpfchen Riesling Spätlese has a pale straw appearance with green reflections. The nose offers a captivating bouquet of ripe peach, apricot, and citrus notes. These fruity aromas are complemented by hints of honey and floral undertones, adding complexity to the wine's aromatic profile. The palate shows a perfect balance between sweetness and the racy acidity. Flavors of juicy stone fruits, such as peach and nectarine, dominate the palate, while subtle mineral notes provide a sense of terroir.
