I'm drawn to the allure of Burgundy wines, distinctly the lush and textured Santenay. The wine's deep, decadent color is a testament to its age, and the nose is filled with the understated aromas of stewed prune and graphite, smooth by a velvety mouthfeel on the palate. The tannins are dry and well-integrated, complemented by a range of spices and dried fruits, containing pepper, leather, and licorice. The linger is long and satisfying, with a final note of red and black cherry.
