Laporte Le Grand Argentier Menetou-Salon Blanc is a zesty, refreshing, unoaked Sauvigon Blanc from the Loire Valley, France. The Menetou-Salon vineyard extends over 330 hectares of rolling hills, planted on limestone soils. Whilst the area is perhaps less well-known than nearby Pouilly-Fumé and Sancerre, in the right hands, these wines can produce incisive, mineral-driven expressions of Sauvignon Blanc that can give the more revered neighbouring villages a run for their money. This wine is vinified and matured entirely in stainless steel vats before being bottled.
NOTES FROM VINOVOSS SOMMELIER
Laporte Le Grand Argentier Menetou-Salon Blanc has a pale straw appearance with green tints suggesting a youthful wine.On the nose, an array of citrus fruits, such as lemon and grapefruit, along with hints of green apple and white flowers. These aromas are beautifully complemented by subtle mineral notes of gun flint, adding complexity to the wine. The palate is crisp and lively, with a zesty acidity that brings a refreshing sensation. The citrus flavors continue to shine, accompanied by a touch of lemongrass and asparagus. There is also a delicate herbal of freshly cut grass undertone that is present on the persistent finish.
