Biancosesto is a distinguished wine originating from the hills of Eastern Friuli, Italy, renowned for their eocene marl and sandstone, locally referred to as "Ponca." Cultivated from the indigenous Friulano and Ribolla Gialla grapes, it embodies the essence of the region's viticulture. The vineyards are meticulously managed in a short Monocapovolto system, fostering low-hanging vines with a density of 5,000 plants per hectare. Harvested during the second week of September, the grapes undergo a meticulous winemaking process. After a preventive cold maceration at 4°C for 36 hours, the gently pressed juice ferments slowly in Slavonian oak barrels, maturing on lees with periodic batonnage. Finally, after refinement in bottle, this wine is presented to connoisseurs, showcasing the epitome of Friulian winemaking tradition.
