Voss Expert tasting note

This robust Monastrell from Jumilla presents a deep, inky purple hue, indicative of its concentrated nature. The bouquet is a complex interplay of ripe blackberries, dark plums, and hints of violet, underscored by subtle notes of licorice and flinty cedar. On the palate, it reveals a full-bodied structure with velvety tannins and a core of rich, dark fruit flavors. The wine's vibrant acidity provides balance, while nuances of black pepper and cocoa emerge on the lengthy finish. Juan Gil Jumilla Silver Label is crafted from Monastrell grapes grown in the Jumilla region of southeastern Spain, known for its arid climate and limestone-rich soils. The grapes are harvested from older vines, contributing to the wine's concentrated flavors. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks to preserve the fruit's natural character, followed by aging in French oak barrels for a period that adds subtle complexity and structure. This wine is intended to be enjoyed young, showcasing vibrant dark fruit flavors, a hint of spice, and a well-balanced finish, making it a versatile choice for various occasions.
