Illahe Project 1899 Pinot Noir 2022

Illahe Project 1899 Pinot Noir is praised for its rich plum and cherry flavors, smooth texture, and elegant oak influences. While some appreciate its complex, nuanced character and long finish, others find the price steep. The wine's traditional style and natural production methods add to its allure, though high acidity and pepper notes are noted by some.

A testament to artisanal winemaking, the Illahe Project 1899 Pinot Noir presents a garnet hue with a bouquet that unfolds layers of wild strawberry, black cherry, and forest floor, underscored by a whisper of clove and dried herbs. On the palate, it offers a harmonious balance of vibrant acidity and fine-grained tannins, delivering a silky texture that carries flavors of red currant and subtle earthiness. The finish is long and nuanced, with a mineral edge that speaks to its Oregon terroir. This Pinot Noir exemplifies elegance and complexity, making it a benchmark for the region.
