WINE DESCRIPTION
Fritz Haag Brauneberger Juffer Riesling Auslese sourced the grapes from 17.5 hectares entirely devoted to Riesling in Brauneberg (“brown mountain”), the area known for its brown slate along the Mosel. The wine is produced from late harvested bunches of grapes with high levels of ripeness. After gently pressing, the grapes undergo a partial fermentation which is halted prior to completion. This helps retain sweetness in the wine, helping to offset the racy acidity typical of Riesling grown in the marginal climate of the Mosel.
