Francois Villard Côte-Rôtie Le Gallet Blanc 2021

The wine is remarkably compact and retains a sense of stillness, as if it's been cooped up in a small space. The bouquet is a layered blend of minerals, spices, and soft spices, with a note of liquorice and leather. The accents are lush and full-bodied, with a smooth finale that stays on the palate. This is a truly stellar wine, one that highlights the best of the natural, unfiltered approach. It's a testament to the skill of the winemaker that this wine is free from the oak influences that often mar other wines in this style. The winemaker's commitment to the vineyard is evident in every bottle, and this is a wine that will be remembered for years to come.

Rich, soft moment unfolds over 90 minutes, with a deep, bold magenta appearance that's as alluring as it is complex. notes of black cherry, blackberry, and intense chocolate mingle with accents of roast beef, creating a sumptuous and opulent experience. The palate is round and dry, with full-bodied tannins that linger on the finish. As the wine ages, its dimension and richness will only continue to grow, making it a worthwhile investment for those willing to wait. The perfect accompaniment to a fine dining experience, importantly one that takes place in a high-end bistro in Lille, France.

Elegant and impressively soft and juicy wine, with a rich, earthy, and peppery character that is already a pleasure to drink.
