Dense, heavy wine with a lot of heft, but still in need of time to unwind. The cherry and vanilla flavors are present, but not fully integrated, and require a few years to mature. A serviceable, if unremarkable, glass pour experience.
Ikoan
Opulent and full-bodied Côte de Nuits that unfolds with amazing intensity and nuance. Its depth and elegance are evident from the moment it opens, making it a versatile pairing for a variety of dishes, comprising grilled meats, stews, and a Spanish-style rice with ribs. The nose is controlled by by liquorice, during the tasting reveals black berries, mineral notes, and a delicate spice and pepper finish.
