Wine Description:
Château Gilette Sauternes (Crème de Tête) is made from a blend of Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc grape varietals, which are affected by the noble rot (Botrytis cinerea) - a natural fungus that dehydrates the grapes and concentrates their sugars, resulting in a wine with a luscious sweetness and complex flavors. The wine is typically aged in oak barrels, which adds further depth and complexity to the wine. Château Gilette Sauternes (Crème de Tête) is known for its opulent and concentrated flavors, with notes of dried apricots, honey, marmalade, candied fruits, and spices. It has a rich, velvety texture and a long, lingering finish. Despite its sweetness, the wine is well-balanced with refreshing acidity that adds to its complexity and ageability. This wine is often enjoyed as a dessert wine, and it pairs well with rich desserts, foie gras, blue cheese, and other savory dishes.

Château Coutet Cuvée Madame is a special release produced only in the very best years, coming from the property’s two oldest parcels of Sémillon. The average age of the vines on these plots is around 55 years. The selection process is painstaking as each grape is picked one-by-one by hand. Further sorting takes place at the wine press and damaged grapes are eliminated immediately. Alcohol fermentation takes place in new French oak barrels before it stops to retain sweetness, then the wine is aged in barrels for three years before bottling.
