WINE DESCRIPTION
Bernhard Ott Rosenberg is a riedenwein or single vineyard wine from the Wagram region of Austria; it is considered the crown jewel and the top vineyard for Bernhard. The vineyards are in a high elevation amphitheater which protected from the wind. After picking and sorting, the fruit is crushed and macerated inside the press. The juice is allowed to brown and racked into stainless steel or large oak Stockinger fuder where it is fermented using native yeasts without temperature control. The cellar is very cold inhibiting malolactic conversion which would help soften the acidity preferring instead to keep freshness to produce an assertive, intensely mineral and age-worthy Gruner Veltliner.

Bernhard Ott Rosenberg is a powerful and age-worthy Gruner Veltliner from Austria.This medium-bodied wine showcases crystalline precision and perfectly defined aromas of ripe pear, pea shoots, white flowers and intense minerality. On the palate, it has powerful and assertive acidity that provides the backbone for the flavors of lemon zest, white pepper, and almond. The finish is crisp, very persistent and mineral-driven.
