Apolinar
Wine with a very low level of quality, lacking in tannins and exhibiting a bland taste. The strength of mushroom and earthy hints is somewhat mitigated by the inclusion of cream hints, but generally the flavor profile is unremarkable and somewhat unusual.
Anne-Jan
Voluptuous and intricate wine with a deep, opaque red hue, revealing a unique blend of African influences. The tannins are well-balanced, providing a velvety and delicate finish.
Lolke Courtiol
Decadent and nuanced wine with a diverse palette of flavors, including smoke, plum, coffee, blackberry, cherry, and chocolate, demonstrating exceptional worth for its price.

Babylon's Peak Pinotage is praised for its rich, full-bodied profile with notes of plum, cherry, and coffee. Some vintages offer a well-balanced and velvety finish, while others are criticized for being bland or unbalanced. The wine often features earthy and flinty undertones, with a mix of sweet and spicy flavors. Opinions vary, with some finding it sophisticated and others noting a lack of refinement.
Exhibiting a deep garnet hue, the Babylon's Peak Pinotage opens with a bouquet of ripe blackberries, dark cherries, and a hint of earthy minerality, underscored by subtle notes of mocha and spice. On the palate, this wine is full-bodied and well-structured, with velvety tannins and a balanced acidity that enhances its fruit-forward profile. The mid-palate reveals layers of plum and a touch of dark chocolate, leading to a lingering finish with a whisper of smoky oak. This Pinotage exemplifies the varietal's potential, offering a harmonious blend of power and elegance, characteristic of South Africa's Swartland region.
