Albert Bichot Gevrey-Chambertin Les Evocelles is praised for its rich fruit flavors, including cherry, raspberry, and strawberry, with earthy undertones and a smooth finish. While some find it well-balanced and refined, others note a slightly overpowering fruit presence. The wine's texture is often described as mellow and approachable, with firm tannins. Overall, it offers good value for its price.
Displaying a deep ruby hue, this Gevrey-Chambertin offers an alluring bouquet of black cherry, wild raspberry, and subtle forest floor nuances, underpinned by a whisper of clove and cedar. On the palate, it reveals a harmonious balance between its vibrant acidity and finely-grained tannins, creating a silky texture that envelops flavors of ripe plum, crushed herbs, and a hint of dark chocolate. The wine's complexity is further enhanced by a mineral undertone, leading to a long, elegant finish. This is a quintessential expression of Burgundy, showcasing both the power and finesse typical of the Les Evocelles vineyard.
