Adrian et Diego Mathier Cabernet Sauvignon 2019

Lovely red wine, but not quite as polished as the one I had the night before. Still, I'm eager to track down a similar bottle to add to my collection.

Rich, full-bodied red wine with a intense garnet hue, boasting a sophisticated nose featuring blackberry, cranberry, and black cherry notes, accompanied by whispers of vanilla, cappuccino, and tobacco. On the palate, the wine is marked by a ripe blackberry and cherry flavor profile, with additional layers of mokka and oak wood. The lasting impression is long and satisfying, with a mild touch of raspberry.

I purchased this wine after sampling it in Salgesch, but upon returning home, it failed to impress with its lack of opening and diminished flavor profile. The color was a bold ruby red, but the typical Cassis tones were noticeably absent. during I appreciated the wine's ruby red hue, I found it to be a poor match for the Cassis I've had in the past, notably from Mathier. I have since purchased a more affordable alternative, the Gamay Mephisto.
