Nouvelle

Nouvelle is a South African cross between Cape Riesling and Ugni Blanc

Nouvelle has light lemon colour skin. The aroma profile ranges from grassy, green-pepper to bubblegum and fruit drops.

Nouvelle is mainly found in South Africa, mainly in the Hermanus Bay area. Nouvelle is resistant to most fungal diseases apart from powdery mildew. It is mainly used in blends with Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon. Nouvelle wines are extremely versatile and pair well with barbeque, smoked light meats, and earthy vegetables.

It was obtained by means of open-air hybridization in the vineyard and not under controlled greenhouse conditions.
