Valle de la Puerta is a wine producer in the Famatina Valley, where its first vines and olive trees were planted in 1994. The winery was built in 2002 with stainless steel tanks and equipment and controlled fermentation temperatures. Julian Clusellas is president and CEO, while Javier Collovati is estate manager and winemaker. Surrounded by the Velasco and Famatina mountain ranges, the estate has 150 hectares of vineyards within 1,300 hectares of land. The vineyards lie at 1,000 metres above sea level on sandy loam soils of alluvial origin. Drip irrigation supplies each vine individually with the precise amount of water it needs. Its wines include organic Malbec, Bonarda, Cabernet Sauvignon and Torrontés.
