Simon

Simon is a winery in Agárd near Lake Velence, founded and built in 1999 by Simon és Simon Kft. Its wines are made by the family company of writer and politician L. Simon László, whose family has a history of farming, grape growing and winemaking.

The winery stands on a secluded farm surrounded by orchards, and the company farms 20 hectares in the Etyek-Buda wine region around Lake Velence. Nearly four hectares are planted with Chardonnay. Its wines include Chasselas, Irsai Olivér, Zöld Veltelini, Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon, alongside a blend of Kékfrankos, Zweigelt and Syrah. In its 800 m² cellar built from Sóskút limestone, whites and rosés are made using reductive techniques, while reds mature in the traditional wooden-barrel section.
