About Quinta de Chocapalha
Quinta de Chocapalha began in 1987 when Alice and Paulo looked for a property that would become their family project, and Sandra Tavares is the chief winemaker.
Located in Aldeia Galega da Merceana, approximately 50 minutes from Lisbon, the estate covers 70 hectares in total, with 46 hectares of vineyards. Planted white varieties are Arinto, Viosinho, Gouveio, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc, while red varieties are Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Castelão, Syrah, Touriga Franca, Alicante Bouschet, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot. Harvesting is carried out separately by grape variety and by parcel.
