Dr. Von Bassermann-Jordan

Dr. Von Bassermann-Jordan is a wine estate in Deidesheim, founded in 1718 by Pierre Jordan. Pierre came from a winegrowing family in France’s Savoy region and laid the foundations by purchasing his first vines. Acquired in 1816, the Ketschauer Hof in Deidesheim served as the estate’s centre until 2006. In 1899, Ludwig and Friedrich Bassermann-Jordan took over jointly after their mother’s death and substantially expanded the vineyard holdings.

The estate’s vineyard purchases around Deidesheim, Forst, Ungstein and Bad Dürkheim brought its area to approximately 27 hectares. Ludwig shaped the family business through his focus on traditional Riesling cultivation, while Gewürztraminer was also cultivated in suitable locations.
