WINE DESCRIPTION
Vigilance Chardonnay hails from the Red Hills Lake County appellation, located in North Coast California. The wine is produced by Shannon Family Wines, who work completely organically across all of their estates. The Chardonnay for this wine is sourced from their own 250 acre Rolling Knolls estate vineyard, planted on volcanic soils. Finally, the wine is aged in oak barrels for around 12 months prior to release to complement the ripe citrus and stone fruit flavors.

This wine displays an attractive medium golden color in the glass.The nose of the Vigilance Chardonnay offers enticing aromas of ripe apples, pears, and a hint of ripe stone fruit. These aromatics are complemented by subtle oak nuances of vanilla and coconut cream, contributing to a well-integrated and balanced wine. The palate is dry, with a creamy texture and well-integrated acidity that provides a counterpoint to the sweet oak and fruity profile. The wine has a medium length finish marked by sweet oak spices and layers of meyer lemon peel and stone fruit.

The North Coast of California boasts some of the most renowned vineyards and wineries in the world. Located in the northern part of the state, the North Coast is home to the Napa Valley, Sonoma County, and Mendocino County, all of which are recognised for their exceptional wines.
The North Coast of California has a long and storied history of winemaking, dating back to the mid-1800s. The region was first planted with vines by Spanish missionaries, who planted Mission grapes in the area. In the late 1800s, Italian immigrants began to settle in the region, bringing with them their own grape varieties and winemaking techniques.
