The Winery of Good Hope Unoaked Chardonnay is sourced from two site: Stellenbosch that offers greater weight and ripeness, and zingy, fresher Robertson. Both sites contribute complementary characteristics that help create a spectrum of fruit flavors, ranging from ripe stone fruit to succulent tropical notes. Grapes were picked at different times to allow both sites to achieve full ripeness. The grapes were pressed and fermented at cool temperatures in stainless steel tanks. Maturation took place on lees, in tank, for a period of around 6 months prior to bottling.
NOTES FROM VINOVOSS SOMMELIER
The Winery of Good Hope Unoaked Chardonnay shimmers in the glass with a medium gold color. On the nose, expect vibrant aromas of ripe stone fruits such as peach and white nectarine, along with hints of mango and pineapple. The palate is crisp and refreshing, with a medium body and creamy acidity that balances the fruit flavors. The absence of oak allows the pure fruit character to shine through, resulting in a clean and fruity, moderately long finish.
