WINE DESCRIPTION

Scarzello Barolo Sarmassa Vigna Merenda is a single-vineyard wine produced by the family-owned Scarzello winery, located in Barolo appellation of Italy's Piedmont. The winemaking is very traditional in style with a long total vatting time and extended maturation before release. This results in a complex wine with a powerful structure and a pale ruby color and aromas of red fruits, spices, and floral notes. The wine is full-bodied with firm tannins and a long finish, making it an excellent choice for pairing with rich and flavorful dishes.

Scarzello Barolo Sarmassa Vigna Merenda is an impressive traditional style of Barolo.The extended maceration on skins is evident on the palate with very firm, grainy tannins perfectly balancing the richness of the broad palate. Complex develop notes of sandalwood and potpourri linger on the long finish. Serve with any slow-cooked dish and drink now or allow the tannins to soften further before drinking over the next 30 years.
