WINE DESCRIPTION
Rocche dell'Annunziata, an exclusive Barolo vineyard owned by Ratti in La Morra, rests at 300 meters above sea level and is celebrated for its elegance and depth. It's one of Annunziata's most renowned sites, shared by 12 winemakers, including Voerzio and Trediberri. Ratti manages about one hectare, producing 5,000 bottles. Their vines are situated in the central part of this southwest-facing amphitheater. Ratti's winemaking has evolved with lower fermentation temperatures (26°C instead of 32°C) and longer skin contact (30 days instead of 15 days), resulting in finesse, delicacy, and a softer color. Aging occurs in large Slavonian oak casks for 24 months, following the classic Barolo tradition. Rocche, along with Arborina, is among La Morra's prime locations, sparking debates on whether the elevated vineyards like Cerequio, Brunate, and La Serra are more intriguing than the lower-lying sites like Rocche and Arborina.
