WINE DESCRIPTION
Poggi Corte dei Castaldi Amarone della Valpolicella Classico is crafted by the Poggi family who established their estate in 1888. The Corte dei Castaldi is made with grapes sourced from a selection of local growers. The grapes are all dried for around four months in Poggi’s own barns to concentrate the flavors, sugar and acidity. The grapes are crushed and fermentation takes place in neutral vessels, before the wine is matured in a period in oak barrels and bottle prior to its release.

Poggi Corte dei Castaldi Amarone della Valpolicella Classico has an inky deep color with thick legs that cling to the glass indicative of a powerfully structured, high alcohol wine.On the nose, the wine bursts with complex bouquet of ripe dark fruits, such as black cherry and plum, accompanied by hints of dried figs and raisins. These aromas are complemented by subtle notes of tobacco, leather, and a balsamic note that adds depth and complexity to the wine. The palate is opulent and velvety, with a full-bodied structure laden with ripe black fruits and layers of dark chocolate, espresso coffee, and sweet tobacco. The wine's high alcohol content is well-integrated, providing a warm and lingering finish.
