WINE DESCRIPTION

This Negretti Barolo is made entirely from the highly tannic Nebbiolo variety sourced from Bricco Ambrogio in Piedmont. The vineyards were originally planted in the 1950s facing a perfect south exposition. A lengthy fermentation occurs on skins in steel vats with controlled temperatures to maximise extraction. Maturation lasts for a minimum of 62 months prior to release, including a period of approximately 24 months in French oak barrels.

Negretti Bricco Ambrogio Barolo has a deceptively pale ruby color suggesting a light and delicate wine, however the nose reveals enticing aromas of tart red fruits, such as cherries and plums, along with floral notes of violets and roses.There are also hints of earthiness, with touches of truffle. The palate shows racy acidity and grippy, assertive tannins that give it a muscular structure. The flavors are intense and concentrated, with layers of red fruits, dried herbs, and oak spice. There is a beautiful balance between the fruit and the savory elements, creating a harmonious and complex profile on the long finish.
