Narmada Winery's Yash-Vir is a Bordeaux blend produced using Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot. The grapes are sourced from Virginia state, located on the east-coast of the USA, immediately south of Maryland. The grapes are crushed and fermented with a focus on heavy extraction, with the intention of creating an age-worthy wine that has the capacity to improve in bottle.
NOTES FROM VINOVOSS SOMMELIER
Narmada Winery Yash-Vir shimmers in the glass, displaying a deep ruby color. The nose offers a bouquet of ripe dark fruits, such as plums and cassis, mingle with hints of spice and earthiness. Upon tasting, Yash-Vir reveals a harmonious balance of ripe dark fruits complemented by subtle hints of tobacco and licorice. The wine's medium body and firm tannins contribute to a well-rounded mouthfeel, whilst the fresh acidity balances the concentrated dark fruit on the long finish.
Virginia is a state in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern regions of the United States. It is bordered by Maryland, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia to the south and west; Pennsylvania to the north; and Delaware to the east. With a long history of winemaking, Virginia is now one of the most exciting wine regions in the US.
Virginia has a long history of winemaking, dating back to the early 1600s when the first vines were planted by English settlers. The state was once home to the largest wine-producing region in the US, but Prohibition in the 1920s put an end to the industry. In the late 20th century, the industry began to revive, and today Virginia is home to over 300 wineries.
