WINE DESCRIPTION
Jean Macle Côtes du Jura is a savory bone-dry white wine from the Jura region in France. The wine is composed mostly of Chardonnay with a small proportion of the local Savagnin variety. The vines are planted on limestone soils that gives the wine its characteristic minerality. The grapes are hand-picked, pressed and fermented to dryness before undergoing a period of around 3 years of maturation in small oak barrels without any topping. During this time, the wine develops a veil of flor (yeast) which produces flavors of nuts and faded white flowers typical of the style.

Jean Macle Côtes du Jura has a medium golden appearance on pouring.On the nose, the wine is powerful and intense, offering a wide array aromas of candied fruits, along with hints of nuts and floral notes. The palate is bone-dry, with mouth-watering acidity that brings freshness and balance. It showcases flavors of green apples and zesty citrus fruits. These fruit notes play a supporting role to the cornucopia of savory flavors of hazelnuts, cheese rind and chamomile. The wine also displays a pleasant minerality, that lingers on the persistent finish.
