WINE DESCRIPTION
In 1850, the Gramona story began with Josep Batlle, an employee winemaker. His son started exporting wine to France, where the phylloxera plague had struck, learning the art of sparkling wine production. In 1881, he founded his winery with vineyards. The name Gramona entered the family through his daughter's marriage. After 1945, extended lees aging enhanced wine quality, leading to the creation of the first Tre Lustros in 1951, though it hit the market a decade later. This laid the foundation for their success, continually refined through generations. Gramona now practices strict organic and biodynamic methods, leaving the DO Cava and joining the Corpinnat association, known for rigorous sparkling wine production standards. Corpinnat translates to "born in the heart of Penedès."
