Gian Piero Marrone Tre Fie Arneis is a refined white wine hailing from the vineyards of Madonna di Como in Alba, Italy. Nestled at an altitude of 1,345 feet, these northeast-facing vineyards are characterized by calcareous soil rich in quartz and sand, with alternating layers of compact grey sandstone. The vines, planted on average in 1975, are trained using the traditional Guyot system. The grapes are hand-harvested in the first week of September and undergo a gentle pressing after 6-8 hours of skin contact under nitrogen to prevent oxidation. Fermentation occurs at a controlled 60ºF for 20 days in stainless steel tanks, followed by 5 months of aging sur lies with battonage to enhance aromatic complexity. The resulting wine is a testament to meticulous winemaking, offering a delicate balance of freshness and elegance, perfect for pairing with a variety of dishes.
