WINE DESCRIPTION
Ferrer Bobet Priorat Vinyes Velles is a red wine from the Spanish region of Priorat. Based upon Carignan supported by Grenache, the grapes for this wine are sourced exclusively from the oldest vines located on the well-exposed terraces of this mountainous region. The slate-rich soils add a distinct mineral note to this wine. The winemaking focuses on the full extraction of color and tannins to produce a bold with full flavor and structure. Maturation for more than a year in small, French oak barrels adds complex sweet spice notes to the long finish. The combined result is an age-worthy wine that stands out as a prime example of what the region and producer are cable of making.

Ferrer Bobet Priorat Vinyes Velles is an exceptional example of the wines of the Priorat region.The inky color intensity leads to a nose of baked black fruit and dried herbs. The palate is powerful with an immense density of fruit, powerful grainy tannins, and lean acidity. The finish is very long with slatey minerality and sweet oak spice. Whilst it can be enjoyed now for its opulence and ripeness of fruit this wine will need at least 5 years to develop and will hold for a further 10 years after that. Decant before drinking and serve with roasted meats.
