WINE DESCRIPTION
Château La Haute Claymore is predominately a blend of Merlot with a small proportion of Cabernet Franc that adds freshness and an intriguing floral lift to the wine. The vineyard is located in the Lussac Saint-Émilion appellation. Whilst this satellite region is perhaps less highly regarded compared Saint-Émilion, it tends to give more approachable wines that can provide excellent value for money. Here, at Château La Haute Claymore, grapes are harvested mechanically before being rigorously sorted. Vinification occurs in thermoregulated vats, followed by maturation of around one third in wood for a period of approximately 12-18 months.

Rich and supple tannins provide a rounded texture, thanks in part to the high proportion of Merlot. The ripe fruit flavors persist, accompanied by nuances of vanilla and spice, which contribute to a long and satisfying finish.
