WINE DESCRIPTION
Château Graves de Pez Saint-Estèphe is owned by Maxime St Martin who was just 21 when he bought this 3ha estate from his uncle, making him the youngest vigneron in the appellation. His grandparents moved to the Médoc in 1960 to manage nearby fourth classified growth Château Lafon-Rochet. Whilst working at Lafon-Rochet his grandparents purchased the tiny parcels that comprise Graves de Pez. Famed enologist Eric Boissenot now consults for Graves de Pez helping them gain Cru Artisan classification when it was revised in 2018. The parcel of 45yo vines is planted over a limestone bedrock on the classic deep gravels of the St Estèphe appellation, and typically produce powerfully structured wines. Aged in 25% new to 3-year-old barrels, this wine has aromas of black fruit intermingled with spice and earthiness.

Château Graves de Pez Saint-Estèphe offers a complex nose of black fruits, such as blackcurrant and blackberry, accompanied by subtle hints of tobacco and cedar.These aromas create an enticing and elegant aromatic profile.
The palate is brimming with black fruit that is framed by grippy albeit well-integrated tannins. Flavors of dark fruits, such as plum and black cherry, dominate the palate, complemented by notes of wood spice and earthiness. The wine displays a fine depth and complexity, with a long and harmonious finish.
