WINE DESCRIPTION
Château Grandchemin Monplaisir hails from Saint-Estèphe, located in the northern tip of the left bank of the Gironde River in Bordeaux. This commune is known for giving more structured and intensely tannic wines compared to their neighbouring communes.
The vines are planted on clay heavy soils interspersed with gravel and limestone outcrops. On arrival at the winery, the grapes undergo destemming and crushing. Next, alcoholic fermentation at controlled
temperature takes place using selected yeasts with maceration of the skins. Maturation takes place in stainless steel vats with oak staves to add a gentle spicy character which lends notes of cinnamon and clove to the rich, black fruit flavors.
