WINE DESCRIPTION
Château de Pitray is a Merlot-dominated blend from the Castillon - Côtes de Bordeaux appellation, known for producing excellent value wines compared to some of its more prestigious right bank neighbours. The vineyard features a blend of clay and limestone soils, which helps retain water during the warm summers extending the growing season and ensuring slower ripening. The winemaking process involves crushing, fermenting and aging in barrels to round out the texture and add subtle oak spice.

Château de Pitray has a medium ruby hue.The nose is quite restrained with notes ripe black fruit aromas of plum and blackberry, complemented by notes of cedar and spice. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and fresh, with a well-integrated tannic structure and balanced acidity. The mid-palate is round and full, hinting at a high proportion of Merlot. The finish is moderate with a hint of earthiness and cedar notes that are intermingled with cassis and fresh blackberries.
