WINE DESCRIPTION
Château Coutelin-Merville Saint-Estèphe is still, dry, oaked, blended wine with firm tannins and refreshing acidity, allied to a mix of red and black fruit intended to be drunk over the medium term. The Cru Bourgoeis property of Château Coutelin-Merville Saint-Estèphe has been owned by the same family for over 100 years. The vineyards are planted primarily to Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. The make-up of the blend will vary with the vintage but the use of a third of each variety is common. The wine is matured for at least 18 month in of, 20% of which is new, providing well integrated notes of nutmeg and resulting in more resolved tannins upon release. This is a great choice for drinkers who enjoy evolved Bordeaux wines, or those seeking drinking Bordeaux at highly drinkable prices.

Château Coutelin-Merville Saint-Estèphe is a wine that can be enjoyed in its youth, but it also has great potential for aging. With proper cellaring, it will develop further complexity and soften its tannins over a decade and hold for further 5 years at peak. Try with lamb chops and your chioce of garnish.
