This Rosso di Montalcino is crafted by the Tornesi estate has been owned by the same family since 1750. All of their vineyards are located at high elevation, and are certified organic. The vines that supply this wine come from the south-west and south-east areas of Montalcino, from a stony ground mixed with galestro particularly rich in skeleton. Fermentation takes place at warm controlled temperatures with a long maceration on skins. The wine ages for 6 months in large, Slavonian oak ‘botti’ with an additional period in bottle before release.
