WINE DESCRIPTION

Cascina Adelaide Fossati Barolo is made entirely from the highly tannic, perfumed Nebbiolo grape. The vineyards are planted at "Fossati", in La Morra in Piedmont, Italy. Vines are situated on a South-East facing slope at an altitude of 400 metres. The grapes are hand picked and crushed shortly after. Fermentation takes place in warm temperature-controlled vats with extended skin maceration to create a highly extracted wine crafted for long-term aging. The wine is matured for around 2 years in large oak barrels before spending a further 12 months in bottle prior to its release.

Cascina Adelaide Fossati Barolo has a pale to medium ruby color with garnet reflections, typical of Nebbiolo.Initially, the nose is a little reticent, but after a few minutes in the glass, the wine starts to reveal layers of dried roses, violets, and red fruits, accompanied by earthy notes of truffle, leather, and tobacco. On the palate, this Barolo showcases a harmonious balance between its firm tannins, trenchant acidity, and rich flavors. It presents a combination of red cherry, plum, and raspberry, layered with nuances of licorice, dried herbs, and spices. The wine's structure and complexity unfold gradually, revealing a long and persistent finish.
