L’Errante is a premium wine crafted from a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon, grown in the hills near Negrar di Valpolicella at an altitude of 450 meters. The vineyards, with a southeast and southwest exposure, feature vines aged between 15 and 50 years, using Pergola Veronese and Guyot training systems (6000 vines per hectare). The winemaking process begins with hand-selecting grapes in early September, followed by natural drying in wooden plateaux for 3 months. After careful selection, pressing, and fermentation in steel vats with selected yeasts, the wine undergoes 64 months of aging, including 40 months in new 2.25 Hl barriques and 24 months in 25 Hl barrels. Bottled after 5 years and aged for an additional 8 months, L’Errante’s production is limited to about 3,000 bottles.
