Ayllus Los Ailos Syrah - Malbec 2024

Initially, I was underwhelmed. However, as it matured, it underwent a transformation. Initially, it was intensely fruity and mid-range. Unfortunately, the tannins initially presented a tangy quality that detracted from the wine. Upon further development, the spices emerged, elevating the wine's generally quality.

Nuanced blend with a dominant Syrah presence, but a welcome addition of composition from the Malbec. The nose features a lush array of dried fruits, accompanied by dates, vanilla, and pomegranate molasses, alongside subtle hints of dusty suede and oak. The fruit is also accompanied by a whisper of spice, with cherry, plum, and graphite. However, the ending is somewhat lacking, with the spice feeling too thin and the as a whole effect feeling somewhat underwhelming. A good two hours of decanting may help to reveal more of the fruit's potential, but for now, the blend feels somewhat one-dimensional. Overall, a decent effort, but not specifically memorable.

Full-bodied wine with a youthful vigor, its dryness provides a zesty structure, at the same time hints of cherry and oak add complexity and complexity, with a nuanced undertone of vanilla, making it a compelling pick for those desiring a bold and engaging sampling experience.
