Wine Expert Note:

The Barolo Riserva "Vigna dei Dardi" by the Fantino brothers is an incredibly intense and profound wine. It presents itself with a robust ruby-red hue in the glass and offers intense aromas of red fruits and tobacco on the palate, making these its defining characteristics. The wine boasts a long, complex, and intense finish, as one would naturally expect from a Barolo Riserva of this caliber. Fantino's Barolos pair exceptionally well with game dishes, beef, and slow-cooked preparations. Serving temperature should be between 16-18 degrees Celsius. It is advisable to open and decant it ahead of time to fully appreciate its qualities.

The Barbaresco Riserva Pora DOCG was one of the first Barbaresco vineyards in Piedmont. In 1967 the flagship of the Produttori del Barbaresco was produced for the first time at the same time as the vineyard wines from Vietti and Gaja. The Barbaresco Riserva Pora DOCG is a fruity and complex Barbaresco with silky tannins, powerful, juicy with a fresh acidity and a long finish.

Situated a stone's throw from Barbaresco's village center, the winery traces its roots to the 1930s when Giovanni Giordano established it amid a challenging period in the Italian wine industry. Luigi, Giovanni's son, made a bold move to vinify his own grapes, releasing the inaugural labeled wine in 1958. Amid the nascent plans for Barbaresco's official appellation, Luigi's independent bottling was revolutionary. Today, the winery thrives as a family endeavor led by Luigi, daughter Laura, and grandson Matteo. Their collective passion yields timeless wines from prestigious Barbaresco crus like Asili and Montestefano. The single-vineyard Cavanna bottling exemplifies the winery's elegant, hands-off winemaking approach, standing as a unique expression in Barbaresco's landscape.
