August 13th is the day dedicated to the celebration of this fascinating, intriguing drink.
Selling more bottles than Champagne and Cava all together with 638.5 million bottles annually and a value of $3.2 billion USD in 2022 shows the huge success story of this category.
There are numerous reasons to love this sparkling wine.
Why you might ask? Well, let's have a look.
It is kicking off with its price, which is lower, compared to its counterparts from Champagne.
Its quality is very consistent and you know what to expect when it comes to Prosecco.
It is easy to drink, not complicated at all, it is delicate with sometimes even some balancing sugars and a lively perlage contributing to the lively experience and explosion in your mouth.
Above all this in recent years, there were some fabulous launches from big names too. Kylie Minogues Prosecco Rose or Paris Hiltons' Rich Prosecco in 2006 are just two out of many examples.
Prosecco is furthermore a really impressive drink and qualitative base for other refreshing summer drinks such as Aperol Spritz which is definitely worth a tick on your must-taste list.
2020 was the year when Prosecco Rosé PDO was introduced, boosting sales numbers with 70 million bottles in 2021 alone for this category attracting new fans.
