COLOR, AROMAS & TASTE PROFILE

Moscato Giallo is a yellow-green grape variety with a light and delicate appearance. It is a highly aromatic variety with intense floral aromas, notes of exotic fruits, orange blossom and sweet spices.

REGIONAL FEATURES

Moscato Giallo is mainly cultivated in the Italian regions of Trentino-Alto Adige and Veneto, where it is used to make sweet sparkling wines. It is also grown in small quantities in other parts of Italy, such as Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Lombardy and Piedmont. The grape is also found in neighboring countries like Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Hungary. Moscato Giallo is a hardy variety, resistant to diseases and pests. It prefers cooler regions and calcareous soil. Unlike Moscato Bianco, it is rarely used to make sparkling wines. Dry wines and the air-dried "passito" style sweet wines made from Moscato Giallo are the best examples of this variety. In Trentino-Alto Adige, Moscato Giallo is used to make single varietal dry white wines of the region, such as Trento DOC and Alto Adige DOC. These wines are characterized by their intense exotic fruity aromas and sweet spicy flavors. Moscato Giallo is a versatile variety that pairs well with a variety of dishes. Its sweet and fruity character makes it a perfect match for desserts, especially those made with fruit or nuts. It also pairs well with light cheeses and spicy dishes.

INTERESTING FACT

Moscato Giallo is a descendant of the most common Muscat grape Moscato Bianco(Muscat blanc a petits grains) and it's usually confused with it.
