Veritas a Czech white grape variety that is yet to be discovered.
Veritas has lemon green colour. The wines are generally full-bodied with moderate acidity with mild citrus aromas.
Veritas is well suited to the more northerly areas of the Morava wine region in the south east of the Czech Republic. Veritas has small bunches of medium-sized berries. it is productive, and has moderate resistance to fungal diseases except botrytis bunch rot. Veritas pairs well with light dishes such as salads, fish and seafood. It also compliments vegetable dishes and spicy cuisines.
Veritas is a cross between Roter Riesling × Bouvier obtained in 1963 by Cyril Míša and Milos Zbořil at the vine research centre in Znojmo, Czech Republic.
It was included in the offical Czech register of varieties in 2001.
