Seibel 10868 is a hybrid grape variety found in Michigan
The berries of Seibel 10868 have thick-skinned grey-bronze colour with purple hues when fully ripe. It has neutural flavour profile with some rustic notes and a high pH.
Seibel 10868 is not authorized in France and does not appear to be planted. It is found in Michigan today, where Boskydel have just a few hundred vines in their Soleil Blanc blend. Seibel's high acidity makes them an ideal match for foods with strong flavours, such as aged cheeses and roasted vegetables.
Seibel 10868 was obtained at the beginning of the twentieth century by Albert Seibel in southern France, by crossing Seibel 5163 × Seibel 5593.
